Okay. So I’ll begin my blog by sharing my conception about this course Pteach1. Honestly, I entered my classroom without any idea what Pteach is about. Fortunately, our prof sir Jasper, gave an overview about this course. According to him, this course is about teaching us the principles of teaching or how to make teaching effective and productive. I just wanted to share that when I was young, I wanted to be a teacher. And because of it, I was excited that I have this course so that I can learn how to teach properly. I hope that this course can teach me a lot and help me become a good teacher someday. During our second meeting, we discussed the definition of principles of teaching and also some quotes from famous people. There are two quotes that struck me the most. The first quote is from, Aquino and it tells that when a student didn’t learn anything significant from the teacher, the teacher is not teaching. For him, teaching is something that takes place only when learning does. I agree with this quote because, even if the teacher keeps on talking but his/her students are not learning, she is not teaching anything. In teaching, the students should learn something. Teaching is useless if students are not learning. This quote will always be in my mind so that someday when I’m teaching, I should make sure my students are learning. The second quote that struck me was from William Ward. And it goes like this, “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires”. This quote is right about the description of teachers. And because of it, I wanted to be known as the great teacher because I wanted to inspire my students. To end this blog, I hope that I can learn new things in this course and use my learning in the future.:)
